Once we’ve settled on a basic product idea we can begin the process of building it.
At this point you might be thinking “wait, I need to do more research! How do I know this is the right product”.
A couple of points here:
You are basing the product idea on problem areas which in turn come from your real Audience and Tribe. You’ve already done huge amounts of preparation by building your reach and asking them what problems they have.
We aren’t expecting all our products to instantly hit. Instead I’ll show you how to build fast, find what works and make adjustments. So our starting idea is not as important as just starting.
Chances are that your first product won’t be very good. Sorry! But it’s true. You’ll be making lots in the future so treat the first pass as a learning experience. Thankfully AI makes the process painless. And products that don’t do well can be adapted into new ones so work is never wasted.
Bearing all this in mind let’s get stuck right into the process of building. No more “research” needed - it’s procrastination at this point.
First let’s work out the “perfect” version of our product. The version that will solve all our customer’s problems:
Act as a product designer.
Generate a comprehensive product package for [product name, product description]
The topic area is [niche]
The customers' main problems are [problems]
Create an exhaustive list of product components in a tabular format.
Include only products, not services. Include only
digital products.
Again add in your niche and customer problems.
Also copy paste in the product name and description you’ve chosen from the previously generated output.
ChatGPT will generate a long list of potential ways to tackle your customers’ problems.
Note that these are all digital products. There are no services. And there are no physical products. We’re keeping it tight for now.
You may look at this and think “what the hell, I can’t make all that!”.
Don’t worry - in the next step you’ll see what we’re up to.
