I charge $1,700 per hour for AI workshops and once got paid $4,000 for a single hour speaking to 500 people in Vegas. Companies pay these rates because when you divide by attendees, it's only $20 per person which is cheap for corporate training. I have over 100 students who also give workshops using this model, and I prefer in-person events in international locations so I can combine work with travel.
I prefer in-person workshops over online ones because you can see audience engagement, and I only choose international locations I want to visit for holidays. My business has 6-7 revenue streams including workshops, talks, courses, and consulting because we don't know how AI will change everything. The reason companies still hire McKinsey isn't for advice quality - it's for legal protection and blame-shifting when projects go wrong.
